This week, the Los Angeles Lakers signed free agent shooting guard Dion Waiters to try and improve a roster that is expected to compete for a championship come playoff time. The former Miami Heat guard played just three games for his former team before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies and then later waived.

However, the Lakers are reportedly interested in possibly adding another player per Shams Charania of The Athletic. With that being said, there are a few free-agent options for Los Angeles if they want to add a shooter later in the season.

J.R. Smith

The Lakers worked out the former Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard on Monday shortly prior to signing Waiters. Smith is the epitome of a streaky shooter but when his shot is falling, Smith can certainly make an impact on a team that ranks 21st in the league in terms of three-pointers per game.

Smith is a former teammate of Lakers superstar LeBron James while he may not be as youthful as other options at 34 years old, the former Sixth-Man of the Year is still a viable option.

Alex Abrines

The former Oklahoma City Thunder shooting guard was waived by the team in February of 2019 but is reportedly looking to make a comeback to the NBA.

Now playing for Barcelona in the EuroLeague, Abrines is just 26 years old and showed an ability to shoot the basketball during his time in the league.

The 6-foot-6 wing was a regular contributor for OKC in his first two seasons before being limited to 31 games in 2018-19 after dealing with injuries and mental health issues.

Regardless, the Spaniard is a career 36.8 percent shooter from beyond the arc in his career.

Jamal Crawford

It's honestly a bit surprising that no team has given Crawford a chance this season. Yes, at nearly 40 years old, Crawford's career is certainly on its last legs.

However, the three-time NBA Sixth-Man of the Year showed last season with the Phoenix Suns that he can still compete out there. The veteran guard put up 7.9 points per game in 18.9 minutes per contest last season while shooting 34.8 percent from deep throughout his career.

Crawford is apparently a strong locker room presence and would provide the Lakers with yet another veteran to help during the playoffs.

Isaiah Thomas

IT's first stint with the Lakers didn't go so well. The undersized point guard played just 17 games for Los Angeles after being traded there from Cleveland. In those games, Thomas shot less than 40 percent from the field.

On the other hand, Thomas, while not the same player he was in Boston, has had a resurgent season for the Washington Wizards.

Thomas was traded from Washington to the Clippers and then waived. The 31-year-old has reportedly talked with several teams about getting back into the league and with a 41.3 shooting clip from beyond the arc on nearly five attempts per game this season, Thomas is probably the best shooter on this list.
