Former Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams is now a member of the San Francisco 49ers.

The Redskins decided to trade Williams to the Niners on Saturday morning in exchange for a 2020 fifth-round pick and a third-rounder in 2021.

Williams finally got his wish. But apparently, he needs a little help expressing his excitement.

The 31-year-old posted an Instagram story immediately after the trade was announced, asking fans to “make me a San Fran edit.”

Pretty deadpan for a guy who is joining a Super Bowl contender like the 49ers.

Williams and his team will surely be glad to put this saga behind them. The last year and change with the Redskins grew rather ugly, as Williams said the team misdiagnosed soft-tissue cancer growth attached to his head for the better part of six years.

Though Williams underwent successful surgery to remover the growth, he also held out for the entirety of the 2019 season. Williams first sought a new contract, which eventually turned into demanding a trade.

The 49ers had been holding off on making a move for Williams pending the status of current left tackle Joe Staley.

The trade would seem to indicate Staley is seriously considering retirement, though Mike Garafolo of NFL Network said he had yet to decide his future. Staley played in just seven games last season.

Regardless, this would seem to be a nice coup for Williams. He has gone from a contentious relationship with a rebuilding franchise to a key cog on a Super Bowl contender in the blink of an eye.

Now, someone get that man an edit.
