Anthony Joshua had a tough time in the recent boxing match against Oleksandr Usyk. It turns out he had some real mental issues in the fight and they can be traced back to a certain ‘Gypsey King.' Tyson Fury made some comments that got in his head and affected the way he fought.

The former boxing champion changed his strategy based on the comments of people like Tyson Fury. The narrative was that he wasn't a good technical boxer and that he was more of a ‘stiff' bodybuilder type.

The comments seem a little silly but Anthony Joshua has been getting heavily criticized ever since he lost to Andy Ruiz. It's a tough situation for anyone to be in.

“Usyk came up from cruiserweight, he is a great fighter, a 12-round fighter, and I wanted to box with him for 12 rounds,” Anthony Joshua said, speaking with Sky Sports.

“There was always this stigma that I can’t box, that I was this ‘big stiff bodybuilder’. So I said ‘cool, let me practise my boxing’. I tried practising my boxing with Usyk. He won nine rounds, I won three. Next fight, I win four more rounds – I win. So, let me simplify that matter, and I’ll then get on the road to being undisputed champion.”

Tyson Fury is the man behind the ‘big stiff bodybuilder’ remark and he has had no issue jabbing Anthony Joshua at every opportunity. The future of the heavyweight division in boxing is starting to come together for all of the big names.
