EA Games and Dice have just revealed the launch trailer for their upcoming season to Apex Legends, their popular Battle Royale/Team-based shooter. Aptly titled “Saviors“, Season 13 will include a handful of new additions, including a new legend, a new PvE monster known as The Downed Beast, a complete rework to ranked play, a new battle pass, and a slew of other changes and additions.

In the trailer that premiered on Monday, April 25th, the launch trailer focused on Bangalore as she expresses her interest in leaving the Apex Games while speaking about the loss of his brother named Jackson. After getting quick but stern talking from Loba, she is promptly teamed up with Mirage for her final match, along with the newest legend, Newcastle, who seems to have some kind of interest in protecting Bangalore and keeping her safe. As they battle throughout the Storm Point map, they encourage a massive alien beast that tries to eliminate Banga
lore and her team. Fortunately, Newscastle manages to save everyone in time, but after the fight, Bangalore catches onto something about this new legend and discovers that Newcastle is not who she thought he was…

While very few details are currently known, the newest legend, Newcastle, potentially serves as an alternative shield tank similar to legends such as Gibraltar, as the trailer shows him using a massive shield that protects him from frontal assaults. The trailer also implies that Newcastle could possibly make use of a shield while reviving downed teammates. The new downed beast also marks the inclusion of adding PvPvE gameplay, as players will also have to contend with AI boss monsters as well as other opponents. Finally, the new reworked ranking system will be addressing many concerns that players had with earning and maintaining ranks in competitive play, and the new battle pass will be sure to have plenty of new and exclusive cosmetics that will make players stand out.

Apex Legends is available on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Origin and Steam.
