Arsenal simply continue to hit new lows in the new Premier League season.

After suffering back-to-back league defeats to start the league season, Arsenal came away with yet another dreadful performance as Manchester City demolished the Gunners by a 5-0 final score on matchday three.

Manchester City took control of the game from the opening stages of the match, as the reigning Premier League champions created goal-scoring opportunities with ease and overwhelmed Arsenal with one high-octane pressing system.

The lopsided final score still did not do enough to show on just how much Manchester City dominated the game by.

For one, Arsenal finished the game with a mere 19 percent of possession. As noted by Opta, this is the Gunners' lowest such figure in a Premier League game on record.

More so, Arsenal is off to its worst start to a league season since the 1954-1955 campaign.

From the mere one shot recorded to the woeful 67 percent of passes completed, this was arguably one of the worst performances by one of the ‘big six' clubs in the Premier League in quite some time.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is now facing grand pressure to turn the ship around in league play this season. He will have an opportunity to do just that following the September international break, when the Gunners will face off against Norwich City (home) and Burnley (away) — the current 19th and 18th teams in the Premier League standings.

If Arsenal fails to pick up key wins in these upcoming matches, Arteta's time as manager of the Gunners may soon be over before he knows it.
