Over the past year, Barcelona has resolved multiple contract dilemmas, which have included signing midfielder Pedri to a multiyear extension deal. Barca president Joan Laporta still has several contract matters to address, including with the situations revolving around Ronald Araujo and Gavi.

In speaking to the Spanish-based outlet El Periodico, Laporta confirmed that there have been talks regarding this matter, and he aspires to see the two remain at the club.

“Within our salary levels, there is a framework within which we negotiate,” Laporta said. “It's going well. We want them to stay and they want to stay. I expect them to adapt to the salary basis they are entitled to. Whoever doesn't want to stay, there will be no problem either.”

Araujo and Gavi have a mere one more season left on their current contracts with the club. While Araujo has been linked with Manchester United and Gavi has been in the rumor mill with teams such as Liverpool, Barca aims to sign them to extension deals, although the club does not aspire to go all out to keep the two.

Both Araujo and Gavi have emerged as regulars under Barca manager Xavi Hernandez. The Uruguayan defender has featured as a center-back and right-back for the team as of late, while Xavi has opted to roll out the Spanish international in the midfield and also out wide as a winger.

Araujo, Gavi and Barcelona will return to action after the international break with a crucial La Liga home fixture against Sevilla.
