The BIG3 league will tip off once again this summer with some big names traveling across the United States playing three on three in a tournament style play.

According to TMZ, another huge name is trying to get on a roster. When TMZ asked Lamar Odom if he would play in the league he had this to say:

“Maybe this summer…The person I wanted to play for just passed away so it don't matter (who I play for), I just want to go out there and represent for him.

The man he is referring to that passed is Rasual Butler who passed away in a car crash on January 31st.

This isn't the first time that Odom has tried to get in the league. He talked to league founder, Ice Cube, in August about playing in the league and Odom told him that if he got into shape he would gladly have him in the league.

Odom hasn't played competitive basketball since the 2012-13 season when he played with the Clippers. In that season, he appeared in all 82 games, but only played a little under 20 minutes a game and averaged four points.

Odom since that point has dealt with a cocaine problem that left him nearly dead. In 2015, he was found unconscious at a Las Vegas area brothel following a night of partying. He was in a coma and there were points where the doctors didn't think he would live.

But he seems to have taken the most of his second chance in life, and is trying to make a comeback playing the game that made him famous in the first place.
