At this point in his career, it’s safe to say that Paxton Lynch is an NFL Draft bust. Lynch was recently cut by the Denver Broncos two years after the team spent a first-round pick to get him, but that doesn’t mean he no longer deserves another shot to play in the league. At least not in the eyes of the Buffalo Bills, who are working out Lynch, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

It’s a bit odd to hear the Bills showing this level of interest in a quarterback who struggled mightily on the field during his time in Denver. Lynch appeared in just five games for the Broncos and garnered an underwhelming stat line of 792 passing yards and four touchdowns against four interceptions on a 61.7 pass completion percentage.

The Bills, on the other hand, have not invited Lynch to compete for the team’s starting quarterback duties, as they have already announced that Nathan Peterman will be under center for them when they take on the Baltimore Ravens this coming Sunday. Instead, they’re working out Lynch to see if he’s a viable option as the team’s No. 3 quarterback behind Peterman and rookie Josh Allen.

The Broncos reportedly tried to trade Paxton Lynch before releasing him in hopes that they could get at least a token in exchange for the former Memphis Tigers star but did not get any interest at all, according to Mike Klis of 9News.

Lynch is still just 24 and has NFL quarterback size at 6-foot-7, so he’s probably going to receive interests from teams looking to add depth to their QB group, but his chances of becoming a starter may have flown away for good.
