Back in the 2018-2019 season, Carmelo Anthony was excited to get an opportunity to join the Houston Rockets, getting a chance to play alongside Chris Paul and James Harden. But early on, it was evident that Anthony wasn't a fit in Houston, with them trading him to the Chicago Bulls just a few months after signing him.

Melo was waived by the Bulls immediately after the trade, with some people wondering if he'd get another chance to suit up for an NBA team. Furthermore, most people believed that Anthony was going to have a tough time finding a new team due to him being reluctant of accepting a bench role.

However, a season ago, Anthony garnered another chance by signing with Portland, starting in 58 games for them. But after trading for Robert Covington, signing Derrick Jones Jr. and retaining Rodney Hood, the Blazers believe Anthony is best suited to produce off the bench.

There's no doubt that Anthony can still score in a variety of ways, recording 15.4 points per game last season. He also shot an impressive 38.5 percent on 3-pointers, which was the highest mark of his career since the 2013-2014 season.

With the Blazers focused on advancing further in the playoffs, all eyes will be on how Carmelo Anthony handles his new role moving forward.
