Portland Trail Blazers fans certainly feel good to have CJ McCollum back.

After missing 25 games with a foot injury, Damian Lillard's primary running mate returned to the court on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans. Friday's game between the Blazers and Dallas Mavericks marked the sweet-shooting guard's third game back from injury.

The only thing is that his shooting wasn't so sweet in his first two games since his return. McCollum is definitely working his way back though, as evidenced by his 11-of-23 shooting performance for 32 points against the Mavs.

With that said, CJ is seemingly no longer too stressed about his shooting touch, so much so that  he was even able to joke to the reporter who tried to sugarcoat his performance against their back-to-back games against the Pelicans earlier in the week.

It honestly just seems like every member of the Blazers is having a good time this season, which is much deserved after two seasons of playoff heartbreak.

As CJ McCollum's recovery time went on over the past few months, many analysts wrote this season off for the Blazers as a lost one. They must be more than surprised now, as Portland is well above .500 and comfortably in the Western Conference playoff picture.

Much of that effort was done without McCollum's nightly average of 24.5 points per game for 2020-21. If he is able to return to form sooner rather than later, the Blazers are sure to be a force as the playoff race in the West heats up.
