Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum may be one of the best players in the league without the All-star tag attached to his name. A dynamic scorer, he can hit buckets in any manner possible. A day before training camp, McCollum took a different kind of shot that could change his life forever.

According to Jaime Hudson of NBC Sports, McCollum has announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Elise Esposito via Twitter.

There seems to be a streak of proposals for the Blazers this offseason, as McCollum joins teammates Jake Layman and Nick Stauskas to be engaged to their significant others.

Hopefully, the happy festive feelings within the Blazers roster translate to better fortunes this upcoming season.

Last season, Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum led the high-scoring Blazers to secure the third seed in the highly-competitive Western Conference. Pitted against an Anthony Davis-led New Orleans Pelicans team in the playoffs, it seemed like they would cruise against a less-experienced squad.

Monster performance after monster performance, the Pelicans All-star proved to be too much for a Blazer team that seemed nonexistent. Averaging 30.1 points, 13.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.0 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game during the playoffs, Davis brought out the broom in four games as they took out the Blazers in the first round.

If they can move past last season's playoff nightmare, the Blazers should be expected to bounce back this upcoming season. As the dynamic duo of Lillard and McCollum mature, along with their barely retooled roster, you can count on them being in the playoffs seeking redemption.
