Damian Lillard trade rumors have been swirling all offseason, but it doesn't look like he's going anywhere just yet. The Portland Trail Blazers are set to essentially run it back with Lillard and CJ McCollum leading the way once again in 2021-22.

Lillard and McCollum have been teammates since 2013, with the 2019 Western Conference Finals their deepest foray in the playoffs. On many occasions, the two Blazers teammates have discussed what it would be like to win a title together and how that championship parade would play out.

McCollum opened up about these discussions and daydreams to Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer:

“We have discussed it in detail, on multiple occasions,” McCollum said. “What it would feel like, what it would look like, from down to what car would you take? Are you driving the drop top? Is it a pick-up [truck]? It's something we think about, something I think about often, whenever I take the drive to the arena, how nice it would be to have that parade.”

The Blazers didn't make much noise this offseason, so plenty of people are skeptical about their chances of making a championship run. But that doesn't mean McCollum thinks they can't do it:

“I think whenever we step on the court, we have a chance to win a championship. If you don't have that mindset and that mentality, then you shouldn't play. That's my mindset and mentality every year—to compete at the highest level, to really focus on being the best version of myself as a player to help us win. That being said, I feel like every year we have a chance to win a championship. But in the NBA, there's so many things that go into that. You need a little bit of luck.”

The Blazers star understands the “luck” factor in winning an NBA title, and Portland surely would need more luck than a number of other contenders to make it to the mountaintop. All eyes will be on the Blazers this season given the questions surrounding Lillard's future, and we'll see if these daydreams can actually become a reality for McCollum.
