A re-evaluation on Portland Trail Blazer guard Damian Lillard's injured right knee revealed a mild sprain, confirming the previous diagnosis, according to Shams Charania of Stadium.

Lillard left the NBA bubble to get his knee examined after Game 4 of the series, as the Blazers were tasked to ward off the Los Angeles Lakers without their leading scorer in Game 5.

According to Charania, there is no long-term concern of further damage — something that should ease the fear of a potentially lingering issue for the Bubble MVP.

Lillard carried the Blazers on his back for most of the eight seeding games and vaulted them to the eighth seed in the West, soon bouncing the Memphis Grizzlies in the play-in game before the start of the playoffs.

The Blazers caught the Lakers off guard in Game 1 of the series, but went on to lose the next four in precipitous ways, as the tandem of LeBron James and Anthony Davis became too tough to stop.

Luckily for Lillard, this should be an injury he can overcome with rest — something he should get plenty of before the start of the new season, which is expected around early December.

Dame had by far his best NBA season, putting up 30.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8.0 assists through 66 games. While his playoff run didn't have the fairytale ending some hoped to see, his entrance into the NBA bubble had some purpose, as the 30-year-old wanted the chance to compete in the postseason, which he did for four games before his untimely knee injury.
