Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry may be considered as the GOAT shooter, but in the playoffs, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard is making a case for that title.

In his ridiculous 55-point explosion in Game 5 against the Denver Nuggets, Lillard also set a new record for most 3-pointers made in a single playoff game. He went 12-of-17 in the game in what was easily the best postseason performance of his career.

Interestingly, Dame now owns three spots in the Top 4 of the record. Curry wasn't even on it, as it was Klay Thompson who previously had the record with his 11 triples made, per Stat Muse.

For what it's worth, Stephen Curry was in awe of Damian Lillard's performance on Tuesday. The Warriors star was left speechless by what he just witness, as Dame even banked two clutch shots to send the game to double overtime.

Unfortunately for Lillard, his efforts were not enough to get the W for Portland. Led by a strong outing from Michael Porter Jr. and another clinical display from Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets survived the Lillard blizzard and went away with a 147-140 victory.

While it is a heartbreaking way to end the contest, no one can simply write off Lillard and the Blazers now. The series is far from over, and if Game 5 is any indication, Game 6 will certainly feel like hell for Denver as they face a hungry and motivated Portland team.
