By the end of the 2022-23 season — which is the last year of his contract with the Miami HeatJimmy Butler will have a total of $220,111,606 in NBA career earnings.

Not bad for a guy who used to be homeless.

Butler entered the NBA back in 2011, with the Chicago Bulls drafting him 30th overall in that year's draft. Jimmy made just $821,748 during his rookie season.

In his second year, Jimmy Butler earned $1,066,920. He also received more playing time back then after Bulls superstar point guard Derrick Rose missed the entire 2012-13 campaign while recovering from his ACL tear. The swingman averaged 8.6 points per contest.

To finish out his rookie deal, Butler made $1,112,880 in 2013-14 and $2,008,748 in 2014-15. Jimmy then made the All-Star team and won the 2015 Most Improved Player of the Year Award. Those two feats set him up to sign a lucrative contract as a restricted free agent.

In the summer of 2015, the Bulls signed Jimmy Butler to a five-year, $92.3 million extension. The Texas native made $19,857,500 during the 2015-16 season and $17,006,361 in 2016-17. Butler made the All-Star team in both years as well.

However, the Bulls decided to embark on a rebuild by trading Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night in 2017. Jimmy made $17,546,918 during the 2017-18 season with the Wolves and averaged 22.2 points and 5.3 rebounds. The All-Star small forward also guided the Wolves to the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

It appeared Butler had a good thing going in Minnesota. Tom Thibodeau was the coach and Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins were Butler's second and third options, respectively.

However, Butler wasn't happy with the team. He wound up requesting a trade before the start of the 2018-19 campaign. Jimmy played in 10 games with the Wolves before the franchise traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Butler made $18,691,627 in 2018-19. In that salary, $16,051,567 came from the Sixers and $2,640,060 from the Timberwolves. Butler finished the season averaging 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists.

In the summer of 2019, Jimmy Butler signed a four-year, $140.79 million maximum contract as part of a sign-and-trade deal between the Sixers and Heat. Jimmy was set to make $32,742,000 in 2019-20 before the season was suspended due to COVID-19. The All-NBA forward was averaging 20.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists in his first season with the Heat.
