The Denver Broncos may soon see second-year wide receiver Jerry Jeudy make his return to action after being sidelined due to a high-ankle sprain injury.

Denver officially designated Jeudy to return from his stint on injured reserve. As it stands, Jeudy is now allowed to practice with the Broncos. The Broncos now have 21 days to activate him to the 53-man roster.

Jeudy has not featured for the Broncos since their Week 1 opener against the New York Giants. He suffered the notable ankle injury during the contest when he was being tackled by Giants cornerback James Bradberry. The former Alabama Crimson Tide star was subsequently carted off the field and later placed on injured reserve.

Jeudy was initially provided with a six-to-eight-week timeline for when he may return to action from his injury, which would see him possibly be available as soon as Denver's Week 7 clash with the Cleveland Browns.

Broncos head coach Vic Fangio provided an update on Jeudy's injury rehab process last week. While Fangio did not offer a date for Jeudy's possible return to in-game action, he noted that the wideout has been progressing well as of late.

“In the last 10 days to two weeks, he's made good progress,” Fangio said. “His return is not right around the corner, but it's getting closer.”

Jeudy made the trip to Pittsburgh for the Broncos' Week 5 game against the Steelers, where he simply took part in a pre-game stretching session.

Much attention is now centered on whether Jeudy may take part in any of the Broncos' scheduled practice sessions in the coming week. If he ends up being ruled as out for Denver's upcoming Thursday Night Football clash with the Browns, the focus will then turn to his possible availability against the Washington Football Team in Week 8.

In the meantime, the Broncos will look to pick up a key divisional win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6. With Jeudy out for the contest, wideouts John Brown and Tyrie Cleveland could end up featuring in this matchup after they were placed on the active roster ahead of the game.
