The Cleveland Browns got a much needed victory Sunday, defeating the Baltimore Ravens 24-22. However, during the game the Browns lost running back Kareem Hunt to an ankle injury. Following the game, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield addressed Hunt's injury with the media.

Mayfield said that Hunt was in “good spirits” and hoped that he will be able to suit up for their game next week vs the Las Vegas Raiders.

Late in the first quarter with the Browns driving, Kareem Hunt rushed for a five yard gain. While being taken to the ground, he injured his ankle. Hunt limped off the field and was checked out under the medical tent. Shortly thereafter, the team ruled his return questionable. Hunt did not return to the game.

Hunt has been battling injuries for most of the season. Hunt was carted off the field back in Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals with a calf injury. That cost him five games. He returned prior to the team's Week 13 bye against the Baltimore Ravens, but struggled along with the entire offense.

On Sunday, Hunt looked more like himself early. He reeled in a couple passes and had a couple nice rushes before going down again with the ankle injury.

In his absence, D'Ernest Johnson filled in backing up Nick Chubb. The Browns nearly blew a 21-point lead, but held on late for a two point win. The win vaulted the Browns right back into the thick of the AFC North race. They are 7-6 and only one game behind the Ravens atop the division with four games remaining.
