Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht says that defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh wants to remain with the team going into 2020, according to Rick Stroud of The Tampa Bay Times.

Suh signed with the Buccaneers last May and played all 16 games this past season, registering 41 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four fumble recoveries and a couple of defensive touchdowns.

The 33-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Nebraska, was originally selected by the Detroit Lions with the first overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft.

He appeared in every contest during his rookie campaign and was spectacular, racking up 66 tackles, 10 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a defensive score en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Suh continued his dominance over the first five years of his career, making four Pro Bowls and earning First-Team All-Pro honors three times in total.

Then, in March 2015, Suh signed a massive six-year, $114 million contract with the Miami Dolphins.

Unfortunately for the Dolphins, Suh never lived up to his lofty expectations in South Beach, making one trip to the Pro Bowl in his first three years with the club before being cut in March 2018.

The Portland native went on to sign a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams and had a solid season in 2018, recording 59 tackles, 4.5 sacks and a pair of fumble recoveries, helping the Rams reach the Super Bowl.

While Suh is clearly not the same player he was years back, he remains a solid contributor and comes with great durability, having not missed a game since 2011.
