The current Superbowl champions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, are enjoying a good start to the season. They won two games and then, in a close match, lost to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday. They are still led by veteran Tom Brady, one of the best football players in the history of the game. He is now 44 years old and questions are asked constantly about his retirement.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, as covered by NBC Sports, Brady finally gave us more details. The superstar quarterback specified that he will be playing through 2022. He continued:

Beyond that, I don’t know,” the Buccaneers gunslinger said. “Maybe it’s another year after that; maybe it’s two. I’ll have to see where I’m at with my family. That’s probably the overriding factor — what I’m missing out on. I don’t want to be out there and suck. You think I want to go out there and look like I’m 44 years old? I want to look like I’m in my prime.

Tom Brady was also asked about his life past his glorious football career. He stated:

“I don’t think anything will match my football career,” the Buccaneers star said. “I think it’s too hard to replicate that level of energy and output and adrenaline. That’s kind of why I want to go until the end, because I want to make sure I don’t look back and go, ‘Man, I could still do it.'

Brady and his Buccaneers will try and win one more championship this season. He already has seven to his name, along with five Superbowl MVP awards and countless individual accolades.
