Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez believes it's time for the NBA to play preseason and regular season games in Australia.

Lopez says he and his Team USA teammates were impressed with the number of fans who came out to watch USA take on Canada at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on Monday.

“It's so important to keep that momentum going, that's the one thing we were talking about in the locker room after this game,” Lopez said, via ESPN. “We were just like, ‘Wow, you know, basketball has got a chance to be a really big thing here.' It's grown a lot in the last decade or so. You've had a lot of great, talented players.

“I think it is time for the NBA to come out, play games here, preseason, regular season, whatever it is, and keep building and growing the game out here. It's something special.”

Brook Lopez and Team USA defeated Canada by a final score of 84-68. The NBA is a global sport and the Bucks center is enjoying his Team USA experience because it's allowing him to see how much people love basketball outside of the United States.

The Bucks have two players who will be competing in the FIBA World Cup in China: Khris Middleton and Lopez.
