Milwaukee Bucks superstar swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo finds ways to sneak into the gym despite “lockout” days from head coach Mike Budenholzer.

Budenholzer has certain days where he wants his players to take off so they can rest their bodies. Antetokounmpo is a gym rat, though, and he loves to work on his game non stop.

The Greek Freak tells Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN Budenholzer's lockout days have not worked on him at all.

“It definitely hasn't worked,” Giannis said. “I always find ways to stick in here. I'll find ways to get my work in because I try to always get better.”

The Bucks have the best record in the NBA and Antetokounmpo is a candidate, along with Houston Rockets guard James Harden, to win the 2019 MVP award.

Harden is a gym rat like Giannis as well. A video of The Beard working out after a game went viral and Antetokounmpo saw it. The three-time All-Star says things like that make him want to work out even more.

In 68 games this season for the Bucks, Antetokounmpo is averaging 27.3 points, 12.6 rebounds and 6.0 assists per contest. The 24-year-old is shooting 58.1 percent from the field, 24.2 percent from beyond the arc and 72.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Giannis has 52 double-doubles and five triple-doubles on the season. Whatever ways he's finding ways to stick in the gym despite Budenholzer's lockout days are working wonders for the star.
