Jason Kidd bid goodbye to the Milwaukee Bucks in a terse yet meaningful message that he posted on his personal Twitter account. The recently-fired Kidd made sure that the players knew that they were the ones dearest to his heart.

In the image post, Kidd said his final farewell.

“I would like to thank Milwaukee Bucks fans, ownership, staff, and most of all the players for the last four years. It has been an honor and a pleasure to be your Head Coach.

The future is bright for Milwaukee.

Jason Kidd”

Bucks General Manager Jon Horst had announced the firing on Monday on the Bucks' official website, thanking Jason Kidd for his contributions to the team.

“We appreciate everything that Jason has done for the Bucks organization, but we have decided to make a coaching change. We believe that a fresh approach and a change in leadership are needed to continue elevating our talented team towards the next level, bringing us closer to our goal of competing for championships.”

The Bucks fired Kidd after the team continued to play inconsistently with a 23-22 record despite a deal that brought Eric Bledsoe to man the point earlier in the season. It’s important to note that the Bucks are still without one of their best players in Jabari Parker. The second pick in the 2014 NBA Draft was injured last season and hasn’t played at all this year, contributing to the team’s mediocre performance so far.

Kidd was close to the players especially the team’s star player, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who found out earlier than his coach about the dismissal.

Assistant coach Joe Prunty, was elevated to interim head coach in place of Kidd for the remainder of the Bucks’ regular season.

Kidd had a 139-152 coaching record in four seasons with the Bucks.
