Khris Middleton will come off the bench for the Milwaukee Bucks as he makes his way back from a thigh injury.

The Bucks host the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.

Middleton has recovered from his left thigh contusion earlier than expected, but it looks like the Bucks are going to be cautious with their All-Star swingman.

On the season, Middleton is averaging 18.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game for the Bucks. He’s shooting 46.8 percent from the field, 39.3 percent from beyond the arc and 88.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Bucks are 14-3 on the season after defeating the Utah Jazz on Monday. They have the best record in the East.

Middleton signed a five-year, $178 million contract with the Bucks in the summer. He put up 18.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists last season while shooting 44.1 percent from the floor, 37.8 percent from the 3-point line and 83.7 percent from the charity stripe.

With Kawhi Leonard leaving the Eastern Conference for the Los Angeles Clippers, the Bucks have a good chance of winning the East in 2019-20. Milwaukee lost to the Raptors in the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals in six games.

Milwaukee's core is headlined by reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, Middleton, Brook Lopez, Eric Bledsoe and George Hill. Milwaukee signed Brook’s brother Robin Lopez in free agency. The team did lose guard Malcolm Brogdon to the Indiana Pacers, but was able to sign Kyle Korver and Wesley Matthews.
