Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer has no idea if the 2019-20 season is going to resume. However, the former Coach of the Year is still going to do his due diligence just in case his team does play basketball again this season.

“Basketball-wise, we are finding ways to dig into potential playoff opponents, maybe not just first round, but Eastern Conference,” Budenholzer told Bucks reporters on a conference call on Wednesday.

“Right now, that’s kind of where we are. If the season ended today, it’s very, very close between Orlando and Brooklyn, so putting some time and effort into those teams.

“If we can put a little money in the bank with preparation for the first round, but also if you go a little bit deeper in the East. Also, there are areas where we continue to look to improve and just get better. The video room has lots of different projects on specific things and areas we want to look at and maybe address when we get back to playing.”

The Bucks had the best record in the NBA prior to the season getting suspended. However, Milwaukee was on a three-game losing streak before the season was officially called off.

Bucks superstar small forward Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a left knee injury against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center. Milwaukee lost that game and the next two.

Antetokounmpo sat out the following two games due to his injury. The NBA hiatus has allowed the Bucks star to rest, so that's at least one positive which has come out of the health crisis.

The Bucks had a record of 53-12. The team was motivated to avenge its 2019 playoff blunder when it lost to the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals in six games after taking a 2-0 series lead.
