The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to a two-year contract with Giannis Antetokounmpo's older brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo, 26, is a former second-round draft pick of the New York Knicks, selected with the 51st overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. The elder Antetokounmpo struggled to find playing time, only appearing in two games for the Knicks during the 2015-16 season, and he mostly played with the franchise's G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks.

After phasing out of the NBA, Antetokounmpo, also older brother to Dallas Mavericks forward and 21-year-old Kostas, played professionally in Spain and Greece. The Greece native last competed for Panathinaikos.

The 6-foot-7 Thanasis is a wiry small forward with defensive upside. During his stint in the US with the Knicks, he was known as a very foul-prone player. It's unclear how willing the Bucks will be in adding Thanasis to the rotation, but he will likely not find much playing time unless he gets his fouling in control.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, the reigning league MVP and Greek Freak, could enter free agency in the summer of 2021. Signing his older brother could be in part a move to entice Giannis to stay in Brew City.

The Bucks lost to the eventual champion Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals in six games. The franchise has been dealing in free agency to improve the roster and complement Giannis in order to get over the hump and bring the 24-year-old to the apex of the basketball world.
