One of the most memorable moments of this year's edition of the draft was when Chicago Bulls rookie Coby White, in the middle of a press conference, learned about former University of North Carolina teammate Cameron Johnson being drafted.

Upon hearing that Johnson had been drafted 11th overall, just four spots after White himself was selected by the Bulls as the seventh overall pick, the latter reacted in what was easily one of the most genuinely endearing moments of that historic evening.

For his part in the narrative, White instantly became a meme, as the internet quickly turned this heart-warming moment into a viral sensation. White recently spoke to The Athletic's Darnell Mayberry and Gina Mizell about this, and he shared how this was quite an enjoyable experience for him.

“It was fun,” he said. “It’s fun to see yourself as a meme. It helped my social media status go up, too. My followers went up on everything.”

Despite some people making fun of him, White holds no ill will whatsoever. He went on to say that this was just a natural reaction from his end, given how much he was rooting for Johnson.

“That’s how I was taught, how I was raised. I want to see others around me succeed, especially when you’re teammates and you’re a brotherhood and a family,” White said. “If they succeed then the whole team succeeds. I’ve just always been the type of guy who gets more excited to see my teammates do something rather than me doing something.”

White appears to possess a genuinely good heart, as well as a very promising future ahead of him in the basketball sense — a definite win-win scenario for the Bulls.
