The Chicago Bulls could welcome back one of its walking wounded on Friday, as Nikola Mirotic is on track to make his season debut. Head coach Fred Hoiberg will reportedly have him suit up on Thursday but will not see action, and his availability the next day will depend on how shootaround goes for him, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

The 25-year-old forward has missed the Bulls' first 22 games of the season after suffering a facial fracture, stemming from the altercation he and Bobby Portis were involved in during practice before the campaign started. The two used to be in non-speaking terms, but Nikola Mirotic has already stated that he has forgiven Portis.

Should Mirotic see action for the Bulls as scheduled, it will give them more depth in their forward rotation. Given his ability to shoot from the perimeter, and even beyond the arc, it should open up the lane for his teammates to have more room to operate.

With only a 3-19 record to show, Nikola Mirotic’s impending debut will be a huge boost to the Bulls. They will need all the help they can get at this point, as they look to improve on their win-loss slate, and have a more respectable standing as the season progresses.
