The Chicago Bulls are a mess, but if there’s one thing from the Bulls that doesn’t need any fixing, it’s rookie Lauri Markkanen’s stroke from the outside.

By beating the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday, 91-86, the Bulls didn’t just taste their first win of the season. It also marked a milestone for Markkanen, who became the first player to sink 12 threes in his first four games in the NBA.

The NBA has been around for over 71 years and has seen a plethora of great shooters come and go and somehow, its Markkanen who’s the first NBA player to make a dozen threes through four games to kickstart an NBA career.

Against the Hawks, Markkanen went 2-of-8 from beyond the arc, and while that’s far from being an efficient line, the Arizona product was in line to regress after going bonkers in the first three games in which he was 10-of-22 (45 percent) on his 3-point attempts.

Lauri Markkanen will not be able to be this hot for an entire season, but he’s really seized the opportunity afforded to him by the Bulls with Nikola Mirotic sidelined with a facial injury.
