There was a scary moment on Monday night in the Arizona Cardinals' 34-11 NFC Wild Card loss to the Los Angeles Rams when Cardinals safety Budda Baker was taken off the field on a stretcher after a scary collision. Baker was diagnosed with a concussion and taken to the hospital with further evaluation.

The Cardinals safety did have movement and feeling in his extremities when he was taken off the field, and he was apparently alert in the hospital. Overnight, Baker tweeted out this uplifting message:

This is great to see after what happened. Baker suffered the injury when he went to go tackle Rams running back Cam Akers in the third quarter of the game. Baker went limp after the hit and immediately needed medical attention.

Akers said later that he didn't realize how serious Baker's injury was and reiterated multiple times the respect he has for the Cardinals defender.

Let's just hope that Baker is indeed all good and will be okay moving forward. The 26-year-old Cardinals safety is one of the better players at his position in the NFL, earning a fourth Pro Bowl nod this season. He racked up 98 tackles and three picks in the regular season.

Unfortunately for Baker and the Cardinals, this season ended with a scary injury and an ugly loss after so much promise to begin the 2021 campaign. Arizona started the season 7-0 before faltering down the stretch and then losing badly in this playoff game to a NFC West rival.
