Dennis Schroder literally turned his back on $84 million when he rejected the Los Angeles Lakers' extension offer a couple of months back. Now, he's set to earn $5.9 million with the Boston Celtics this coming season, and the haters have been having a field day over his disastrous free agency decision.

Schroder is well aware of the noise and he's taken it all in stride. In his recent Instagram post, the 27-year-old took a shot at his naysayers as he expressed his unwillingness to let all the hate pull him down:

“Progress is a slow process! Can’t focus on the baggage! See what’s about to happen next!” Schroder's caption read.

Schroder also sent out a bit of a warning to all his haters as he told them to watch out for what he's about to do with his new team. The 6-foot-3 combo guard is just one year removed from being a top contender for the league's Sixth Man of the Year award, and despite a rather forgettable stint with the Lakers last season, he's definitely looking forward to a bounce-back campaign with the Celtics.

Dennis Schroder has been taking a lot of flack of late, and to some extent, you have to say that this was self-inflicted. It's not everyday that you lose close to $80 million in the span of a couple of months. Nevertheless, Schroder isn't letting all the negativity pull him down. He's going to be playing with a huge chip on his shoulder next season and it will exciting to see what he's able to bring to the table in Boston.
