The Boston Celtics have been the hottest team in the NBA since the start of the calendar year. It's been night and day compared to earlier in the season when the team struggled to stay at .500.

The Cs were in the midst of an 11-game winning streak that was shockingly snapped by the lowly Detroit Pistons right before the All-Star break. Jaylen Brown spoke out after their rematch on Saturday night, a 113-104 win for the guys in green.

“One game at a time, man,” Brown said on the Celtics' mentality. “That’s all y’all are going to get from me. That’s it. We’re going to take it one game at a time. The difference is kind of going through the course of the season. There’s ups. There’s downs. There’s highs. There’s lows.”

Taking it further, Brown was vocal on the reality that some fans and outside observers turned their backs on the current iteration of the Celtics. After a disappointing 2020-21 season and what seemed like more of the same to start the year, the clamor for a big move was starting to grow louder.

“Some people don’t stick around. They’re not here for the lows but they want to be here for the highs. That’s cool. That’s fine. We’re not paying attention to it. We’re just going to take it one game at a time.”

Jaylen Brown has heard it all before. His pairing with Jayson Tatum doesn't work. The trade rumors linking him to virtually every star player made available on the trade market. The criticism of their previously iso-dependent offense. And through it all the Celtics have persevered.

There's still a lot for Boston to prove thus far. The Celtics are still just a sixth seed in the Eastern Conference right now despite arguably being the best team in the NBA for the past month and a half. But with the team heading in the right direction, Jaylen Brown and the Cs have temporarily shut up their doubters.
