The Boston Celtics will have to play the next couple of games without their All-Star forward Jayson Tatum due to health and safety protocols.

The NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols have been playing a major role in the way the season has been playing out. Teams have been forced to devise their own unique strategies to win games despite not having a complete roster. And the Celtics will be one of them now that Jayson Tatum has entered health and safety protocols, the team announced.

When the C's missed five players (Al Horford, Grant Williams, Jabari Parker, Juancho Hernangomez and Sam Hauser) due to the protocol over a week ago, coach Ime Udoka stressed that it is what it is and the only thing he could do is to just rely on his “other guys” who will definitely play extra minutes. Among those guys was Tatum.

“I wouldn’t say frustrating. It’s something everybody is playing through,” said the Celtics coach via Boston Herald. “You’ve seen Chicago, and Brooklyn and other teams hit with that. It’s something we’ve been trying to avoid, but it seems inevitable at times for everybody.”

“You have to tinker with the lineups at times, but we have other guys who are able and we’ll increase those minutes,” he added.

But without the team's talisman, the question now is will Udoka still make the most of what he has at the moment, or will the Celtics bring in temporary replacements to help them win the succeeding games?
