The Boston Celtics will host the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday without small forward Marcus Morris.

Marcus Morris is dealing with a sore right knee which has plagued him since the preseason, so the Celtics are just trying to be cautious with the veteran swingman.

In 28 games for the Celtics this season, Marcus Morris is averaging 14.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 49.2 percent from the floor, 42.4 percent from beyond the arc and 87.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Boston enters their matchup with the Suns at 18-11, fifth place in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics have won eight of their last nine games but are coming off a loss to the Detroit Pistons.

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens will announce the new starter closer to tip-off. It will most likely be either Gordon Hayward or Jaylen Brown, although Brown is dealing with a hand injury and questionable to play. Hayward has been coming off the bench since early November because he was struggling with the starters. The 28-year-old is putting up 10.9 points per game on the year.

As for Morris, Boston has to hope this sore knee isn't going to be an issue all season.
