Chael Sonnen is not exactly the most trustworthy person when it comes to ‘news' in the UFC. The former fighter has offered quite an interesting take on the future of Conor McGregor and Leon Edwards.

In a recent YouTube video, Chael Sonnen claims the UFC wants to book Conor McGregor against Kamaru Usman. This leaves Leon Edwards out of the equation, but apparently, the promotion has something for him.

“I am being told that Leon has been offered his show and his win, whatever was negotiated for Leon to fight Kamaru is being offered to him. ‘We will mail you a cheque to step aside. We have the right to push you aside, (but) we don’t want any hard feelings. And, we acknowledge that you deserve this. So, we are going to send you what you agreed on and you get to stay home.’ With the belief being that Conor’s gonna step in.”

Chael Sonnen made sure to cover his butt by claiming that he doesn't believe the rumor. The former UFC fighter claims he's just letting the people know what's going on.

“I don’t believe this rumour by the way, I’m just sharing with you anytime you don’t have something locked up… Leon [vs Kamaru] is not done. There are some real moving parts there, quite frankly I don’t know if we are going to see Kamaru Usman fight in two years from now.”

Leon Edwards reacted to the statement from Chael Sonnen and he had quite the reaction. It's safe to say things are complicated in the UFC with Conor McGregor and Kamaru Usman.
