Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Travis Benjamin is questionable to play Week 4 against the Dolphins in Miami, according to Eric D. Williams of ESPN. He is dealing with a quad injury.

Through three games, Benjamin has four receptions for 17 yards to his name. The former Miami Hurricane splits time with Dontrelle Inman as the team's third receiver; neither has impressed thus far.

The Chargers wide receiver corps is held up by two-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen, who had a 13-catch, 183-yard, two-touchdown performance in Sunday's 27-20 home loss to the Houston Texans. Mike Williams, a top-10 pick in 2017, has stepped up as the Chargers' second option, but he too is dealing with an injury (knee).

Benjamin or not, Chargers coach Anthony Lynn needs someone to step up and provide consistency to a receiving corps that is already without tight end Hunter Henry.

“We’re 1-2 right now. We need everybody in that receiving group to step up and make plays, not just Keenan [Allen]. As they step up, we will spread the ball around,” said Lynn on Monday, via Gilbert Manzano of the Orange County Register.

With Benjamin dealing with the quad injury and struggling before then, it looks unlikely that he's the option to step up. Williams should turn into that full-fledged No. 2 option after he heals from his knee injury. However, in today's NFL, the Chargers need more than two receivers; hopefully, Benjamin can get over his injury and continue to give the team speed to stretch its offense out.
