The Kansas City Chiefs have their sights set on slowing down Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans and they're hoping they won't have to do so without one of their key contributors on defense. Heading into Sunday's pivotal matchup, Chris Jones is a game-time decision after suffering an injury in practice per James Palmer.

Jones sustained a calf injury during Kansas City's team practice on Thursday. As a result, the Pro-Bowl defensive tackle is listed as questionable for the Chiefs' first playoff game of the season. Obviously, everyone will know more the closer kick is scheduled to happen.

At the least, the coaching staff believes that Jones will be able to give it a go versus the Texans. Before his status is made official, it appears that the team will have him work out before the game to see if he's able to suit up.

The last time these two teams faced one another, Jones was sidelined with a nagging groin injury. With Jones on the sideline in street clothes, Houston gashed Kansas City's defense for 192 rushing yards en route to a 31-24 victory in Week 6.

During the regular season, Jones was forced to miss three games due to the groin issue. Even though he missed three games, Jones finished the year with 36 tackles, nine sacks, eight tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hits, and a forced fumble.

Due to his impressive numbers, Jones was actually named to his first Pro Bowl in 2019. Over the past four seasons, Jones has been a vital piece of Kansas City's defensive front.

If Jones is unable to play on Sunday, rookie Khalen Saunders would likely see more snaps with the defense. On the other hand, if Jones is active, the Chiefs are hoping that Jones can fix what went wrong in Week 6.
