Patrick Mahomes' mom, Randi, wasn't the only member of the family who expressed her utter disappointment after the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl loss on social media. The quarterback's fiancée, Brittany Matthews, fired shots at ESPN on Twitter for posting in-game photos of her husband while he was struggling on the field.
Cool ESPN, love the support of a major sports platform for one of the best players in the league…

Matthews also did the same for SportsCenter who also posted a picture of Mahomes being frustrated due to their performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Y’all are 🗑🗑🗑 for this too, but he looks damn good to me😍🔥 https://t.co/e4YCpeoQo4

After the game, Matthews still gave praise to her husband and claimed how proud she was for him giving his best effort until the final buzzer. She also set their off-field priorities as a couple now that Mahomes can take some time off after the season ended:
Not how we wanted it to end, but 15 played his heart out and I’m always and forever proud of him in everything he does! 🙏🏼❤️

On the field, the former Super Bowl MVP was visibly bothered by the toe injury that's expected to require surgery in the offseason, which wasn't helped by the Buccaneers' ferocious pass rush. Mahomes had a hard time gaining any rhythm on offense as he was often seen limping on the field.
Mahomes eventually finished the game with 270 passing yards on a 26-of-49 passing clip without a touchdown scored. He was intercepted twice and sacked three times while under duress the entire night.
The Chiefs failed to defend their Super Bowl title and fell short in a lopsided 31-9 defeat to the Buccaneers. After the tough loss, things can only get better for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs as they aim to vie for the title once again next season.
