The Kansas City Chiefs snagged a 22-17 win over the Cleveland Browns in the AFC Divisional Round despite Patrick Mahomes leaving the game with a concussion in the second half after a hard hit from Mack Wilson.

After getting the victory, the 2018 NFL MVP gave an assurance to Wilson on Twitter that he is in good condition and hinted at a potential return for the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills:

Patrick Mahomes went down after getting hit by Wilson on a rushing attempt in the third quarter of the game. He was clearly dazed as he tried to get up and was examined in the blue tent before he headed to the locker room. The quarterback was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game.

Mahomes exited with 255 passing yards along with one passing and rushing touchdown each. With Mahomes knocked out of the game, backup gunslinger Chad Henne slotted in under center for the remainder as the Chiefs tried to cling to their lead.

The 35-year-old Henne nearly threw the game away with a terrible interception, but Kansas City's defense came up big and gave the veteran another chance to salt the game away. He did just that with a big third-down scramble to set up a short fourth down and then a clutch completion to Tyreek Hill on the ensuing play, which drew a reaction from Patrick Mahomes.

Chiefs Kingdom definitely took a deep breath after seeing their franchise quarterback sustain a gruesome hit on the field. However, Patrick Mahomes' recent tweet is indicative that he could still make it back in time for the AFC Championship Game this upcoming weekend.

The Chiefs will host the Bills at Arrowhead Stadium on Jan. 24 for the right to go to the Super Bowl.
