The Kansas City Chiefs were dealt quite a blow after quarterback Patrick Mahomes dislocated his kneecap against the Denver Broncos. Fortunately, it appears he is making tremendous progress in his recovery.

Mahomes was able to log in some practice time less than a week after suffering the injury. According to ESPN's Adam Teicher, he managed to do it again.

Patrick Mahomes will again practice today. I'm not expecting a lot from him based on what I saw yesterday.

Mahomes being able to get some activity in on consecutive days is certainly an encouraging sign for Kansas City. Although he was initially slated to miss three weeks, the fact that he is already back on the practice field so soon after the injury indicates he may come back sooner. Regardless, it will be interesting to see if they opt to take a cautious approach with his recovery.

For now, it is safe to assume that backup quarterback Matt Moore will be handed the keys to the offense in Mahomes' absence. He did a solid job filling during the 30-6 win over the Broncos in Week 7 by completing 10-of-19 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown, however, he will face a much stiffer test against the Green Bay Packers on primetime.

A potential upset against the Packers would certainly go a long way in helping the Chiefs maintain their top spot in the AFC West Division. Given Mahomes' recent activity, he may potentially be able to pick up where he left off starting next week without the team skipping a beat.
