The Kansas City Chiefs were already one of the most dangerous offenses in the entire NFL. Led by elite players like Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, the Chiefs were a threat to drop 50 points on just about every defense.

However, with the last pick of the first round of the recent NFL Draft, Kansas City added one of college football's most versatile and explosive weapons when they selected LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

The Chiefs took a running back-by-committee approach in 2019 and were led by Damien Williams' 498 rushing yards. Edwards-Helaire expects to be an impact player for Kansas City from day one, and the rest of the offense is already intrigued.

“I mean, just bringing another weapon to the table, honestly,” Chiefs' Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce said on FOX Football Now”And I know one thing about the Kansas City Chiefs organization — (head) coach (Andy) Reid, (team owner) Mr. (Lamar) Hunt, you go down the line — what they do is they grab good character guys to bring into the facility, to bring into the building, to make coming into work fun, to try and weed out the guys that may be in it for other reasons or whatever they've got going on.”

Slightly overshadowed by Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow, Edwards-Helaire enjoyed a strong junior season for the Tigers. He recorded 1,414 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground, while posting 55 catches for 453 yards and a touchdown as a pass-catcher.

With Mahomes under center, Edwards-Helaire's powerful running and ability as a pass-catching back should make the Kansas City offense even more dangerous than it already is.
