It's officially the holiday season for the Epic Games Store. For the next fifteen days, Epic Games will be giving one free game every day. Gamers just have to head on over to the game's store page to claim it.
For the first day of Epic Games Store's Holiday Sale 15 Days of Free Games, Epic is giving away Cities: Skylines. It's a city-building and management strategy game that has been a staple for many strategy fans for years. It may be a bit old and dated, but critics have universally given it positive reviews. Five years after launch, thousands of gamers all around the world continue to play this game. What can you expect? The game was made by the strategy geniuses from Paradox Interactive, anyway.
With the first game finally revealed, we now know that the viral list of 15-games isn't real. The allegedly (and falsely-claimed) leak says that Dying Light will be offered on Day 1. Cities: Skylines isn't even in this list, which destroys any credibility that the list may have had.
EPIC GAMES STORE EXPERIENCES HEAVY LOAD AT MIDNIGHT
Thanks to everyone's anticipation for the first game of their 15-day Holiday giveaway, the Epic Games Store experienced heavy load at the turn of midnight. Don't worry if you can't grab your free copy of Cities: Skylines immediately, though. You have a full twenty-four hours before it rotates out. Then, we'll get another mystery game, which actually makes this event more fun. Epic Games will now be able to surprise us with their giveaway, since we've already proven that the leak isn't real. Checking which game it is every night will be like opening a surprise gift from Epic Games.
