Already missing the services of Danilo Gallinari and Patrick Beverley, the L.A. Clippers will be further shorthanded in the next two weeks. Austin Rivers is suffering from an Achilles injury and is slated to miss the next coupe of weeks before getting re-evaluated, according to the media information release made by the team.

Rivers has already missed the Clippers' last two games and recently sought for a second opinion on his injury to find out what his options are. He is expected to receive a lot of treatment in the next two weeks in order to be cleared by doctors to resume all basketball-related activities.

Austin Rivers’s absence is a huge blow to the Clippers who can’t seem to catch a break and be at full strength for an extended period of time. He has been playing well this season with career-high averages of 15.8 points, including 40.5 percent from beyond the arc, 3.6 assists, and 1.3 steals, to go along with 2.1 rebounds in 32.7 minutes per game.

Milos Teodosic is expected to continue being the starter for the Clippers, with Lou Williams and Jawun Evans also playing some minutes at the point guard spot. If there’s any silver lining for the team at this point, they could have Gallinari back soon and they'll still have a 17-19 record, good for ninth place in the West. If they’ll be able to string a few wins together, they would have a good chance of competing for one of the last playoff spots in their conference.
