The last time the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets faced off, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers was ejected to the delight of his son, Rockets guard Austin Rivers.

The two teams meet again on Friday, this time at Staples Center. Doc wants Austin to be the one who gets ejected this time around:

At Rockets media day, Austin Rivers said Doc Rivers was on Cloud 9 all offseason, and you can’t blame him. The Clippers signed Kawhi Leonard in free agency and traded for Paul George.

Games between the Rockets and Clippers will be exciting to watch this season. James Harden and Russell Westbrook versus Kawhi and PG-13; it doesn’t get much better than that.

We’ll also get to see Austin and his dad have some more friendly back and forths on the court.

Austin, who played for the Clippers before, re-signed with the Rockets this summer on a two-year deal worth $4.54 million. He reportedly turned down more lucrative offers to play elsewhere because he loved his time with Houston last season.

Both the Rockets and Clippers are legitimate title contenders. Houston is the only team in the NBA with two MVPs on its roster after acquiring Westbrook from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Clippers, with Leonard and George leading the way, will try and win their first championship in franchise history this season. They have one of the best coaches in the NBA coaching the group.
