As if it wasn't already worse that franchise star Paul George hasn't played since December 6th due to an elbow injury, the Los Angeles Clippers have been handed yet another unfortunate blow.

Veteran Marcus Morris Sr has entered COVID-19 protocols, per The Athletic's Law Murray:

The Clippers have stayed relatively virus-free lately, with Serge Ibaka the only other player right now who tested positive for COVID-19. While it's unknown at this point if Morris was in close contact or actually had a positive test, either way, it's disappointing.

Morris has played in just 13 games this season because of a knee injury, but he's been effective when available. The 32-year-old is averaging 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds of a 37% clip from downtown. He also just erupted for 24 points in back-to-back games against two very good teams in the Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns.

In fact, since George went on the shelf for the Clippers, Morris has put up 20+ in three of four contests. PG is questionable for Saturday's contest vs. OKC, but his return would be a massive boost to a team that needs a win. The Clippers will be looking to bounce back from a blowout loss to the Jazz, despite Morris's big night. They're currently 16-13 on the season, which is good for fifth place in the Western Conference.
