Looks like Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley is as tenacious on the sticks as he is on the basketball court.

Known for his ruthless trash talk, the 31-year-old defensive irritant gave Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside a mouthful during their match in the NBA 2K Players Only Tournament on Friday.

Bev cruised to a 15-point advantage early in the match by using Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks against Whiteside's Los Angeles Lakers.

The 2017 NBA All-Defensive First Team member seemed to get a kick going up against the Clippers' arch-rivals Lakers, as he quipped that ā€œQuinn Cook has no business to be in my gameā€.

It did not matter if they were miles away from each other due to the ongoing quarantine period, as Beverley kept taunting his opponent for much of the game.

Check out Whiteside's reaction as Bev went off on him.

The 14th-seed Patrick Beverley, meanwhile, was pretty confident with his 2K skills against the third-ranked Hassan Whiteside heading into their match-up.

In an Instagram comment exchange with former teammate Sindarius Thornwell, Bev claimed he will ā€œspank his (Whiteside) assā€.Ā

Furthermore, Beverley looks to be the third lower seed to claim an upset victory in Round 1 of the virtual tournament. Derrick Jones Jr. (16) and DeAndre Ayton (10) moved on to the next phase, after taking down higher seeds Kevin Durant (1) and Zach LaVine (7), respectively.

Trae Young (2) was the only high seed so far to live up to his billing, as he thrashed Harrison Barnes (15) in their earlier match-up.
