As the entire NBA world reacts to the mammoth news that Kawhi Leonard will be playing in Los Angeles as a member of the LA Clippers next season, one former Clipper was interviewed by TMZ Sports regarding his thoughts on Kawhi joining the Clips.

“I think it's good for basketball, good for L.A.,” Blake Griffin told TMZ Sports. “I think it'll bring a little bit more balance to the Los Angeles basketball scene, so it's good!”

Of course, Griffin himself was one of the biggest stars in LA Clippers history as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, and he holds the fourth-highest win shares in Clippers franchise history with 65.4 behind only Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and Elton Brand – an impressive list to be sure.

That list shows just how impactful and dynamic the Lob City Clippers were, and Griffin was one of the main drawing points of that team across his eight seasons with the squad.

Of course, while Lob City was synonymous with high-flying feats of athleticism perpetrated by Griffin and Jordan, the team was also widely panned for underperforming in the playoffs, with the team’s core seemingly choking away chance after chance at etching their names in the annals of NBA history.

Now, with a proven winner leading the charge in Kawhi Leonard along with one of his best running mates ever in Paul George, the Clippers have a new look and brilliant leadership in the form of owner Steve Ballmer, president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank, advisor Jerry West and head coach Doc Rivers.

The Clippers are legit, and despite not playing their anymore, Blake Griffin seems excited about it too.
