Kawhi Leonard “recruited the hell out” of Paul George to request a trade to the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Leonard's tactics worked, as George went to the Thunder, demanded a trade and is now on his way to the Clippers with Leonard.

Enter Paul George, the Oklahoma City star who sources say was heavily recruited by Leonard in those days leading up to his trade demand and this blockbuster deal that pairs the two of them with the Clippers. Talk about the least likely of pitchmen.

“Kawhi recruited the hell out of him ,” one source close to the situation said. “He did a number on Paul.”

Leonard agreed to a four-year deal with the Clippers on Friday. The Thunder traded George to LAC for four unprotected first-round picks, one protected first-round pick, two pick swaps, point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and small forward Danilo Gallinari.

The Clippers are now title contenders with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard in the mix. LAC was able to keep Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell and Landry Shamet. Patrick Beverley re-signed with LA in free agency as well.

Leonard may be a quiet guy, but he sure knows how to get in the ear of other superstars.
