Montrezl Harrell and the Los Angeles Clippers reportedly have “mutual interest” in reaching a new deal this offseason, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Harrell will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and according to Charania, he is expected to have “multiple suitors” after a career year with the Clippers.

The 26-year-old big man averaged 18.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in 27.8 minutes off the bench during the 2019-20 season. For his efforts, he was voted as the NBA's Sixth Man of Year winner.

“Rival teams expect the Clippers to work the trade market for a playmaker in the backcourt, and internally the franchise has the free agency of Montrezl Harrell and Marcus Morris as well as the potential free agency of [JaMychal] Green (player option) to work through,” per Shams. “Harrell and the Clippers have mutual interest to find a deal, but Harrell is expected to be a sought after in the market place and have multiple suitors.”

Harrell, who just completed his fifth NBA season, signed a two-year, $12 million deal with the Clippers in 2018. However, he is expected to get paid handsomely in a relatively weak market this 2020.

The North Carolina native was not as productive in the bubble, particularly in the postseason. He averaged just 10.5 points and 2.9 rebounds during the Clippers' playoff run — which ended prematurely after the team imploded in the Western Conference semifinals and blew a 3-1 series lead against the Denver Nuggets.

However, that shouldn't affect his value that much, especially since a lot of teams are looking for some much-needed depth — something that Harrell certainly brings to the table.
