The NCAA continues on Tuesday night with this elite Big-12 matchup! It's time to continue our college basketball odds series with an Oklahoma-Texas Tech prediction and pick.

The Oklahoma Sooners are at the bottom of the pack in the Big-12 Conference. This team has had a crazy stretch of games facing three-straight top-20 opponents. The Sooners are coming off a loss to Iowa State last time out and are now just (14-13) on the season. OU is now (4-10) in the conference which puts them 9th just in front of West Virginia. Interestingly enough, the only team in the conference with a losing record is Oklahoma State University, but have a better conference record than their rival.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are rolling right now after beating No. 7 Baylor and No. 20 Texas in back-to-back games. Their last loss was actually against the Sooners back on the 12th. Texas Tech is now No. 9 in the nation with a (21-6) record and ((10-4) conference record. This should once again be an exciting game to pay attention to in the NCAA.

Why Oklahoma Could Cover The Spread

Oklahoma found a way to win this matchup last time out but it was at home. They didn't just beat them, however, as they stormed back down five points at halftime and dominated the second half, and won by 15 points. Umoja Gibson scored 30 points off of 9/14 shooting to help lead them past the Red Raiders. Texas Tech played pretty poorly in the second half and only had two players reach double digits in scoring. If the Sooners can play a similar style of defense and not let them get into any rhythm like before, then they should be able to cover this spread easily. This is a large spread considering they just beat them by 15 last time out. However, the Sooners played awful against Iowa State last game so their offense must bounce back, or else they could get run out of the building.

Why Texas Tech Could Cover The Spread

The Red Raiders come into this game as the favorites and that is the right call. Although, I don't understand why the spread is this large. Are they capable of beating them by 10? Yes, but that is not an easy thing to do. The team is coming off huge wins so they are definitely feeling good amount themselves right now. If Patrick Mahomes is in the building that certainly helps with the hype as the last time he was there the entire arena was shaking. Texas Tech can not let Gibson go off for 30 against them again and if that is the case then they should be able to get close to covering here. When this matchup started last time, it seemed like Texas Tech would control the game, but they collapsed in the second half. If that doesn't happen then this team can cover this spread.

Final Oklahoma Texas Tech Prediction & Pick

I like Oklahoma to cover this spread on the road here. This is a large spread and considering the outcome from their last matchup, I just feel like that 25-point difference will be tough for Texas Tech to eliminate.

Final Oklahoma-Texas Tech Prediction & Pick: Oklahoma +9.5 (-110)
