There has been a bevy of games in college football canceled or postponed—especially in the ACC—due to positive COVID-19 tests. Ahead of their matchup on Saturday, Notre Dame and Wake Forest have postponed their meeting due to Notre Dame producing multiple positive COVID-19 results.

According to ESPN's Andrea Adelson, Notre Dame has 13 players in quarantine after seven players tested positive. As a result, the Fighting Irish have had to pause all of their practice activities until further notice. John Currie, the athletic director at Wake Forest, released a statement on the situation.

“I know everyone involved is saddened to be unable to play this weekend, but based on the circumstances it is the right decision,” Currie said. “We are already discussing options for rescheduling with the ACC and our future opponents, including the possibility of playing on the October 3rd weekend.”

Seeing that they postponed the game instead of canceling it, both teams are working toward a new date for the game. The most likely date for the game to be played is on Oct. 3, which is a date both teams have no game currently scheduled.

Last week, it was revealed that Florida State head coach, Mike Norvell, tested positive for the coronavirus. In light of that, he won't be able to coach in his debut with the Seminoles when they take on the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday.

A handful of college programs have had to cancel or postpone games due to concerns with COVID-19 in 2020. With seven players testing positive for COVID-19 on Notre Dame's roster, their contest against Wake Forest will take place on a date to be determined.
